..really starting to piss me off . It seems to be on constantly. Is there ANYONE in this country who doesn't by now know the Olympics are starting tomorrow AND they are on the BBC?? I don't mind the Olympics themselves but all the hype re the 'flame' "Time to shine" e.g. the coverage waiting for the flame to arrive at the London cauldron this evening was way OTT.
too right mate. love most of the sporting events medals etc but if you dare to mention the hype or the gluttons in suits etc your not into the spirit of the games and your against the athletes, what blsht
Never mind the trailer, what's cheesed me off is that the BBC has taken every opportunity to get it's various presenters into the torch relay, as if them paying for the rights to broadcast the Olympics also gives them the right to hijack the relay and take slots away from the truly deserving ordinary folk, and hand them to pretty much anyone who has ever appeared on the One Show or Question of Sport. Cheeky b*ggers.
Why? I didn't say I didn't like the Olympics or sport. I just find the media coverage of the Beeb way over the top.. Just turned on for the football only to find Boris Johnson on a stage at Hyde Park waffling on about how great it is. Fine if you live in London but not much of a legacy for most of Britain (unless it hopefully generates overseas / export business.
Well firstly, you're getting "pissed off" by a trailer (an advert) . . . why? Its an advert! Its 25 seconds between programmes. How can this piss anyone off? Secondly, this is the biggest sporting event that will happen in this country in most peoples lifetimes. Can't imagine how anyone could expect there not to be a **** load of "overthetopness" about everything surrounding it. What did you expect? Lord Coe cuts a ribbon, we light the flame, "on your marks"?! At the end of the day, millions of people are excited about it. Millions of people aren't of course, but just turn the **** off. Its not hard. I think Corry is still on.
25 seconds ad nauseum though. Good the first couple of times but after a month of it and having seen it hundreds of times it does wear thin!
