Does anyone know how this new service works?

What I mean is, we have that geezer from Top Gear telling us we can now see where calls are coming from, but how does this work with disguised calls?

Whenever these big organisations have rung me they have all been disguised numbers. Come to think of it, many places that ring you, be it local authority, hospitals, government offices etc, all come from a disguised number.

Are they saying that nobody can use a 141 prefix any more, and if not, what's the advantage?

    Its not really owt new

Its just normal caller id and they will register you for the Telephone Preference Service that should cut down on incoming sales calls. You can do that free anyway.</p>
