What a load of tosh,Benson hid again and did nothing productive,Britain did nothing spectacular, just an average game,Cole worked his butt off defending from front ,along with young lad and had a couple of long distance shots on goal, also looking to run off shoulder for a pass that never ever comes from any of his team mates, how is he supposed to score with no service, think some people are just blinkered against the lad for some reason

jedi one is simply giving his opinion.

That his views do not agree with yours does not call for his views to be tosh nor does it mean he has an agenda.

My own opinion is that both Brittain and Cole did pretty well, whereas Benson was moderate but active.

Cole couldn't hit a barn door so even if he'd have got the passes you mention, in all likelihood he wouldn't have scored.

I'm not a massive fan of Cole.
When I watched him when we signed him on loan, I commented there's a player for the future. He looked to have bags of talent in him.
My mate from Bradford asked about him when we let him go.
His comments were, he is always turning up for training late.
I was led to believe that was the reason we let him go.
At his age now this surely should be his last chance saloon to prove himself.
I would really love this to happen , I'm not so confident.

I don’t think it’sa load of tosh, indeed, first half Brittain was arguably our best player. He was tracking back making tackles, bombing forward. He didn’t get forward nearly as much second half but that could’ve been simply a change in tactics by both sides. Luca Connell really impressed me as well

As someone who has been critical of Brittain, I thought he played well last night. He needs to stick to the plan and not try and do too much. Hopefully Duff will keep him grounded and remind him now and again that he isn’t Cafu.

Devante Cole looked very lethargic yesterday, Duff needs to take him under his wing, I.M.O.

I thought Brittain looked 'ok' but in the same way that he has in many matches. Puts the effort in each and every game but absolutely zero end product. At the back again he did ok but Mads did have to come in and rescue him quite a few times, it just wasn't really noticeable.

My biggest issue with him, and to be fair with basically all of our wing backs or wingers for the last few years, is that they bomb down the line then throw the anchor out, come to a complete stop and turn around to pass it back to another midfielder who's ran to stand a few yards behind them. **** that, take a player on occasionally and whip a cross in. We slow it down so much in the final third that everyone gets back and defends and we've done it for years now.

Benson didn't look to put himself about much just for a change. Cole was awful.

Hopefully with a couple more vital signings players like cole and Benson will be nowhere near the starting 11 because if they are it's going to be a struggle. Brittain I think will do 'ok' because his mistakes won't be punished like they were in the championship and he'll have a steady enough season because his workrate carries him through which is full credit to him really

The ‘anchor’ was put on many times though because there simply was no-one in the box. I didn’t think Mads had to cover for him, only when he went forward because that’s what happens when wide-players go forwards the space left gets or should get covered. I didn’t think it was a case of not working hard with Benson or Cole, it was more of not working smart enough at times. Then again we don’t know what his instructions were from the coach. The coach as well as the players will learn from these friendlies, and IF we can get off to a good start I think we’ll see a confidence in certain players that wasn’t apparent last season

In fairness to Brittain he was up against a player with a Champions League Winners medal, a Premier League winners medal and both FA and League cup winners medal.

The fact Andersen had to bail him out a couple of times and yet he never looked completely outclassed would say to me that at the very least he had a “decent” game.

Brittain was a really good signing at first and it definitely clicked for him in Val's team.
Then sadly, last season he became just an average-poor Lg one type player, who was only signed from MK Dons.
Hopefully if Duff & co can do the man management thing well, then we could see Brittain and Benson and a few others start to improve.

Didnt go saturday but like already said britain looked very good under val then under the 2 clowns he went backwards. I didnt like him constantly blaming the managers in public he should have took some responsibility and had a closer look at himself. But hopefully he can kick on under duff.

Benson came from a premier league team and ex arsenal accademy player but he was so poor last season and just strolled around like a passenger alot of the time. I think duff was the burnley u23s boss when he was there so hopefully can bring out the best of him.

Cole not a massive fan but he has scored at this level before so i would expect him to score a fair amount.

Football opinions are weird, because I think this is one of the things what let him down last season (a long with many). His work rate & positional sense are so lacklustre when he doesn't have the ball. I don't think he doesn't work hard, but after a mistake, especially one of his own, he never broke his back to correct it and he tends to make a lot of mistakes, but fortunately for him we had players behind him who either spared his blushes or took some of the blame off him. Rightly and wrongly so, at times

Yeah maybe a lot can be blamed on those two garbage coaches, who just weren't up to it and maybe weren't even bothered either.
The relegation rot started in about Oct-Nov, and it was allowed to get worse, as they all dropped their heads at one time or another.

As for Dev Cole, I thought he was a poor and questionable signing right from the start.
But again, with some better coaching and a better attitude from him and more game time for him in a lower league etc, who knows.

I think it was 3 years for Cole but the deal should have been structured so that the 3rd year was an option for the club. He's safe in the knowledge he has another 2 years with us. A massive season coming up for the lad. I'd love it if he proved me wrong but I don't think he's anywhere near good enugu for us.
