    Yes , ever since he found out he was legible and Hungary were interested his performances have dipped dramatically imo .
    As I said in another thread Cloughie would have stopped him going on the performances he’s put in for the club .

    Well that's counter-productive though isn't it? Hungary have a half decent squad - won't get picked if he isn't performing

    To be honest he’s been like this from the beginning of the season and today was more of the same totally ineffective.

    I still don't know why he doesn't play wide left any more.

    He was brilliant last season on the wing.

    Hungary have nothing to lose . If he doesn’t make it in English football it’s a case of oh well but if he goes on to be a good talent (which imo the promise he showed whilst a young un isn’t coming through to his maturity )then they’ve got him .
    So imo this cap is more in Hungarys favour as it’s a nothing game , but from here on in he’ll have to earn his place , it’ll get us a few more quid in summer mind .

    Both Hungary's matches are friendlies aren't they? Meaning if he wanted to change he still can. Bit like what Zaha did years ago with England. Doesn't it only count if it's WC/Euros?

    Another case of a good player getting messed about but our fans quick to turn on , last season he was arguably one of the best left wing backs in the league but first Schopp & then Poya have played him here there and everywhere & really messed with him, but of course he can rely on the full backing of the Barnsley faithful, NOT !

    Was poor before he got took off v Bristol everytime he got the ball he gave it away.

    Fans fast to turn or just saying what they see and giving a opinion? Styles hasnt had a great season for me been very poor lately but do we turn a blind eye and not say anything because he did well last season?

    I have said for a long time and will maintain what I say, Styles will do no better than being at Barnsley.....he his not top class and we are his level, load of rubbish to say we have messed with him, we all said play him in midfield after last year because he the new Mowatt, well it’s obvious he his not and I am afraid that his lack of pace and tendency to dwell on the ball in good areas and lose possession will be the reason he never plays for a top side, he won’t make his mark at international level either and you’ve heard it here first.

    I agree everyone in the summer was saying play him in center midfield the next mowatt etc soon got found out that he isnt strong enough to play there in the championship and hasn't been the same player at wing back as he was under val.

    Whilst I reckon his performances have dipped of late. I can't fault his effort. And I've never known a player to be shifted around, position wise, as he has In one season.
    When Mowatt left, so much weight was put on his young shoulders to deliver. Still a very good player in there.

    No we dot turn a blind eye, we look for reasons why his standards have dropped & that is what I have done, I am saying that he has been messed about with playing in different positions & formations , thats my opinion and I read all forums , social media etc & believe me he is getting stick when I believe a bit more support might be more constructive , just my opinion.

    Hardly been messed about though has he? Like said in the summer everyone was calling for him to play center mid and rumours were he asked to play that position himself as it was considered his natural position. It became obvious he wasnt ready and after blackpool away which was one of the weakest center midfield performances ive ever seen from both players he wasnt seen there again. He has mostly been played at wing back but just hasnt performed like he did last season at times his getting back after getting forward hasnt been good enough but he isnt alone. Hes only young and i think he is talented. But the reasons why his standards have dropped maybe he needs to take some responsibility as do other players instead of passing the book.
