No we didn't. Their second goal was in the last minute of injury time. Derby are a decent side and we were deserved winners, end of.
And fans booing when we were 3-1 up and being pinned back didn't help the cause. God help us if we had been 1-3 down.
my way of looking at it the second half performance was pretty poor tbh and I think the crowd were understandably anxious given that we had similarly domintaed Ipswich in the first half only to give it away. On reflection it is always hard to keep up the pressure if you go in at half time with such a commanding lead, much better teams than us have done similar. If we had just done slightly better second half it would have seemed much easier, but obviously Clough had given them a rocket worthy of his dad and also succeeded in keeping Smith out of the game. As it happened though we won it in the first half; a lesson in taking your chances, Derby came at us well but they had left themselves too much to do. On balance a great win, fabulous first half performance and a slightly nervy second half that was understandable given previous games. Keith Hill and Flitcroft are continuing to do a fantastic job, we have the smallest budget we've had since getting back to this level it seems yet we are looking to be safe earlier than in any of the previous five years, despite being without Butterfield and O'Brien due to injury and losing arguably our 2 best players this year in Drinkwater and Vaz Te. Up the Reds!
Came very close to an easy comfortable win... ...if Steele hadn't have messed up. He should have swallowed the free kick and he should have put the ball into row z at the end.
