I know he has been mentioned before and don't know how realstic it would be, but with Kirs Boyd looking on his way to Birmingham it looks like Jerome is on his way out of St Andrews. Would guess the transfer fee would be around one million? And unsure about wages, but think he would be exactly what we need. Strength, speed and goals. Any thoughts?
Surely he will realise if he wants first team football he is not gonna get 20 grand a week. I suspect there would be a lot of clubs interested if he was available tho.
He won't come as we're too small a club. Besides mcleish has been playing him on the left so I can't them signing strikers affecting the situation too much
there are rumours that he wants to leave and just thought signing another striker wouldnt help. He is prob out of our reach, but he is the type of striker i think we need.
If Boyd arrives .... Jerome will definitely be on the way out of St Andrews, if he can find the right move. £1 million is the least being touted and some rumours suggest up to £3 million, so I don't think we stand much chance against some other clubs who can bid that amount. A replacement for Odejayi if he did come, but I think it unlikely and we will lose out to a low premiership club (Stoke if they don't land Harewood), or West Brom, who are after every striker at the moment, or a Championship side - watch for Blunts if Beattie goes.
Rangers want more than £3 million for Boyd... However, Birmingham don't want to pay more - watch this space. If Boyd does go to St Andrews for £3 million + then the Blues are going to want to line the coffers with some good money from the sale of Jerome which I expect would be around £2.5 million.
