According to Sky Sports: 10.10 Skysports.com understands that midfielder Jamal Campbell-Ryce has agreed a new long-term deal with Barnsley and will put pen to paper when he returns from holiday.

How much do you think an extra year to a 2 year contract adds to his value? I reckon it's around f.ck all. It's still good management even if it's for that reason. The club deserve a bit of credit as it looks like they've learnt from the Howard situation.
A players value drops when he is in the last part of his contract ,ie. Brian Howard, if Howard had been given a new contract tghen sold when he was BFC would have got a lot more than £500,000 for him. If a player wants to leave then the best thing for the club is to get as much cash for them as possible. Not really rocket science is it???
