    10.10 Skysports.com understands that midfielder Jamal Campbell-Ryce has agreed a new long-term deal with Barnsley and will put pen to paper when he returns from holiday.

    Yes, but he's only got two years left on that one now. He must really hate Davey.

    My guess is that his current one includes a clause, and he gets a new one if he meets certain requirements (10 goals in a season perhaps?).

    How much do you think an extra year to a 2 year contract adds to his value? I reckon it's around f.ck all.

    It's still good management even if it's for that reason. The club deserve a bit of credit as it looks like they've learnt from the Howard situation.

    A players value drops when he is in the last part of his contract ,ie. Brian Howard, if Howard had been given a new contract tghen sold when he was BFC would have got a lot more than £500,000 for him.
    If a player wants to leave then the best thing for the club is to get as much cash for them as possible. Not really rocket science is it???
