"A loner and suffered from depression"

These are no reasons to go and shoot others. Try spending a day in an ill person's shoes to see what they have to overcome. I don't mean me as I consider myself to be fairly well when I hear about others battling much worse illnesses,
    eg. young Emma, http://www.postpals.co.uk/pals/Emma+C

"Advised that he should have psychiatric counselling"

Why didn't you follow up the advice?

Maybe you could have stopped the slaughter of innocent lives. I really feel for the families and friends of the victims who were killed unnecessarily.

Sorry but it makes me so angry that things like this can happen. Just because your constitution(Law) says you can carry guns doesn't mean you should!

Gun crime is on the increase over here and it's only a matter of time before something like this shooting happens in one of our schools/colleges/universities.

It's bad enough thinking that there are idiots out there taking knives to schools etc., to harm others but at least with a knife, unlike a gun,the idiot has a chance of being overpowered and disarmed before he can kill too many innocent people.

I suppose you could say the lad himself was a victim because he needed help and didn't get it but I'm sorry I can't really bring myself to say RIP to him.

Rest in Peace all of you innocent people who died, deepest sympathy to their families and friends and get well soon to those still injured. May you heal quickly mentally and physically.

    It already has

and probably will again, we've had knife attacks recently in schools.

Don't believe the hype though - most people in the US don't carry guns around, I know plenty of people over there and none of them own a gun.

    I know of that one.

Andrew Murray the tennis player is from there.

I was only 2 when that happened so sorry I forgot about it. I still think that it's only a matter of time before something like that happens again.

Knife attacks seem to happen too often but like I said you have more of a chance of getting away if someone comes after you with a knife than a gun.

RE: I know of that one.

Well I realised you'd only have been a bairn back then so wasn't sure if you knew about it or not (I should have known better though!)

Trouble is that guns are getting easier to get hold of over here, gangs are going around with them in some areas, so I do fear something of this type of magnitude will happen, and we have strict gun laws.

    It is quite scary

to think that gangs can and do use guns, knives and anything they can find to deliberately hurt others, it was bad enough when they just frightened them.
