I am at a loss now to understand why we have to keep Mr Flitcroft a second longer. I am even getting fed up of moaning too. I am now considering becoming a Monk.
Until flicker can keep to what worked for us without having to keep sneaking in *sarcasm mode on* king keiths *sarcasm mode off* shitty tactics then we will go nowhere. I am genuinely fed up of this especially after the biggest hype at the beginning of a season for years. I dont think he has it in him to be his own man without returning back to his roots. So I'm afraid its time up from me.
1) You have to give the manager time to build his team. 2) We're not losing by as many as we were at the start of the season so Flicker's getting better and we might win a game before too long. 3) We've got Perkins, Kennedy, and Wiseman - three quality players it's everyone else who's letting these quality players down. 4) Flicker has a project and we might get a manager in who doesn't have a project and can we risk that? 5) Flicker hates losing - we can't risk getting a manager in who might secretly enjoy losing. I'd think of some more reasons but I need to take my medication.......
No I can't But we're all hurting, not just those who advocate sacking the manager and have done all season. Perhaps I ought to start with the personal abuse seen on other threads against people who have no influence over team selection or tactics, but who have differing opinions to me on how the problems can be solved. None of us want to see the club struggling at the bottom of the table with a pathetic 11 points from 16 games. If the suits are still backing David Flitcroft, he can count himself quite fortunate in this day and age. Just to repeat, WE'RE ALL HURTING TONIGHT.
4) Flicker has a project and we might get a manager in who doesn't have a project and can we risk that? 5) Flicker hates losing - we can't risk getting a manager in who might secretly enjoy losing. Made me laugh..
I hate to admit it Kev but I definitely think if we've a chance of staying up then flicker as to go, I hate to see any of our managers get the sack but I think we need to make a change sooner than later.
absolutely Kev... but as we all know its a results business and not a charity I totally get the point many make about stability and all that. BUT he is not showing any signs of it turning around. OK many are saying we have stopped conceding as many just lately... but take a look at the teams we have played. When we start to tangle with the bigger boys again I am sorry but its gonna be Whup-ass time again for us. I am hurting and have been for many seasons now... but it always has seemed as if we could hang on in the past. Sorry but this time I just cannot see it at all. I now totally believe its League one for us next term... and with the current set up I reckon we will struggle there too.
The thing is, Baz Just suppose Flitcroft gets sacked over the next couple of days. Messrs Cryne, Watkins & Mansford may already have someone in mind to take over and the guy in question agrees to come. Do you believe he'll be met with universal approval? Do you believe those who don't approve will allow him any time before the criticism starts? Personally, I'm at the end of my tether. But, unless we start adopting a new approach from the boardroom with regards to what's regarded as the absolute minimum target for the manager, improvement of budget that realistically allows targets to be met, aspirations to be more than simply making up the numbers in the Championship, allow a new man a bit of time & patience rather than panicking at the first bad run and making knee jerks reactions, then nothing will change. Ground Hog Day.
Re: The thing is, Baz So disappointed tonight having seen Millwall come away with 3 points, when with positive tactics we'd have beaten them. What the hell's wrong with Flicker? Why won't/can't he re-introduce the tactics that served us so well from January onwards? This defensive "play for a point" stuff is something he'll live to regret.
I'm struggling, mate, To see how he can keep his job. He made demands of the club that had to be met before he'd commit in the Summer, according to Flitcroft himself. The fact he signed suggests he got the assurances he wanted. It was up to him to deliver and, so far, he's failed to do so. Eventually, excuses have to stop and targets need to be met. I like him. I want him to be a success. Even if I don't like a particular manager at our club, I still want them to be successful as that means Barnsley Football Club are successful. But ultimately you can't get away from his team, his players have accumulated just 11 points from 16 games and we've won just 2. He'll be extremely lucky to stay in his job. I think he'll be sacked.
Re: I'm struggling, mate, Forgetting the results and looking at performances it hasn't exactly been good to watch, i personally am starting not to care anymore and that is how fans are lost.
Re: I'm struggling, mate, And it's a damn sight easier to lose fans (even hardcore fans) than it is to get them back.
Re: I'm struggling, mate, For me, this is the key issue now. The opinion is slowly but surely forming into a consensus on here that, If Flicker were to stay, then we would be relegated at the end of the season. My worry is, if he stays and performances remain at this level, by the end of the season there will be hardly anyone left to care that we've gone down.
