It seemed to finish.

I then had to click a button to remove spyware,malware etc. I had to scroll to find that button after the scan was completed.

Could it have been waiting for you to find the remove button?

I don't get as far as a complete scan. I get to the stage of 21mins left and then it automatically closes the browser. Hmmm, Maybe it's somert to do with Windows Defender.
