can anyone recommend a decent car alarm

    for a 2000 ford transit (no central locking)

    had it broken into twice in less than a year, opportunists smashing the window and searching the glove box. Nothing stolen as I leave it empty, but it's getting ridiculous having to replace the windows.

    Preferably something that alerts me via mobile/key fob when I'm in bed so I can get up and either call the police or go and wrap a golf club round the thieves neck.

    I vaguely remember a time when very few people locked their house doors when going out - was there ever a time that people didn't lock their cars/vans?
