Last night heard him say that he considered Ritchie's statement that we would never get back to the Prem a 'body blow' and that maybe Ritchie's ambitions lagged behind those of the board.
This mornings bulletin he said he hoped to appoint a manager asap, who had knowledge of modern coaching techniques ( and bacon sarnies ) but the board may modify their position depending upon who applied.

here you go mate general gist : andy did fantastic job getting us up football brings new challenges promotion brought a new challenge andy has kept faith with his lads who did such a good job last year obvious we need strenghtening andy didn't react to this he possibly has a blind spot in keeping faith in his lads football club and survival comes first - there was money to spend Patrick spoke very well and thanked Andy for his brilliant job last year, but it was obvious to the board that the team needed strengthening and the manager and the board had different agendas which led to a parting of their ways. also what dirk said about new manager bringing in quickly, emphasis on coaching techniques and obviously, bacon sarnies
It's utterly feckin ridiculous. If Ritchie's not given a decent budget to even stay in this division then he's every right to say we won't get back in the Prem. He's being realistic based on what he knows. To be sacked for that is bizarre. I hope he takes BFC (or PCFC) to the cleaners. Think he's been treated appallingly.
emphasis on coaching equals cheap option. In other words PC buys players he wants and Mr X tries to coach them.
Is Cryne going to take over as Chairman? Why are these statements coming from him and not from Shepherd?
RE: Is Cryne going to take over as Chairman? He's been pulling the strings since he took over so he might as well put his head on the block now.
but do you thnk Patrick Cryne would be stupid enough to let that situation arise? if it does then he's playing a very dangerous game i think the coaching thing comes from his championing of the academy, rightly or wrongly. i think this all comes down to whether there was money to spend or not. if ritchie's hands were tied in who he could bring in then it is utterly harsh and bizarre to sack him but if for example he had the option to sign Morgan, Shipperly, Kazim Richards, Jones and Bates but decided against it because he thought the team were strong enough then I can see why he got the sack. Gutting because if this is the case then his loyalty has cost him his job.Getting the sack for having an admirable quality is unfair, but I suppose if he was only going to sign Cadamarteri before transfer deadline then I think we really would have struggled and can understand why he was sacked.
RE: Is Cryne going to take over as Chairman? I would imagine, the board are still laughing at shepherd's last couple of press encounters and decided to keep him away before he started talking about punching balls to the moon and appointing dogs.
RE: but do you what he was given money to sign Morgan etc and didn't want them but wanted to sign someone else and the money wasn't there? Eg sign who the board want?
I'll say it again ... ... Lucketti, McPhail, Chopra & Shuker. Allegedly all players Andy wanted & the board couldn't get / keep. Ritchie made it pretty clear why he didn't want Kazim-Richards - which the fans must accept. It's a complete shambles. I think it's made Gord look like an amateur - no matter how much Cryne tries to defend him on Radio Sheff.
RE: I'll say it again ... After listening to Cryne last night I actually felt a twinge of sympathy for Gordon Shepherd. Adam Hinchliffe should apply.
And ... ... plane tickets to Majorca. It's a shame Cryne won't step up & run things. Although I don't agree with what they've done - he still spoke very well last night. The fact is - I wasn't cringing all the way through like I do when certain other people are interviewed.
So did I. But a Chairman's job is a poisoned chalice - everyone knows that. He'll get none of the praise when things go right & most of the stick when things go wrong ... that's the nature of the beast - and if he can'r handle it he shouldn't be doing it. Gord needs to prove himself though his actions - not silly Radio tittle-tattle. I'm not sure of he's got it in him, but it sounds like Cryne has.
