Is it onboard graphics,,,,,,,,, ? It is a 6 series so its old really and depends on how much memory it has but i would suggest its not really up to modern games.
RE: I've got a NVidia GeForce 7300LE you can have for free nt Will that run new games? I want FIFA 2009 and Call Of Duty 5
I don't know much about Graphics Cards I got a 8600GT 512MB and took the 7300LE out, the new one easily runs the new games but i think the old one would struggle, maybe it would be ok at a lower resolution.
I have Nvidia geforce 6600 gt - it's pretty **** now but it wasn't bad back in the day - my pc specs are **** so it contributes to the fact that i can't play many games on good settings anymore.
GeForce 6100 (nForce 430) Is onboard graphics (ie the graphics card is integrated into the motherboard. You'll need better for video games. Is it a laptop or desktop machine? It's not possible to fit graphics cards to laptops but generally you can upgrade on desktops. Assuming a desktop tower: Can you get the side panels off? There may be screws on the rear of the PC, there may be a release clip on the rear of the PC, or these may be located behind the front fascia. If you can get the left panel off as viewed from the front you should be able to see the expansion slots on the motherboard. There should be either an AGP (if it's older) or PCI-e slot (newer) on the board. See here for identification details. Having found the slot for the graphics card, buy a card for the relevant slot and fit it. If you cannot get the panels off or are not confident to do this, take the tower to a PC shop and they'll fit one for you, albeit a tad more expensive. For the games you suggest I would look at a nVidia 8600GT as a minimum. This should cost £40-80 dependent on exact card bought and whether you're happy to fit it.
RE: GeForce 6100 (nForce 430) My girlfriends dad built the pc, its a desktop, AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 4000+, 2.11 GHz, 1GB RAM, don't really know much about computers and only really play Football Manager (2009 is ace!) but my brother keeps banging on about how good FIFA 2009 and COD 5 are (abeit for PS 3) just thought i'd like to try for myself, thanks for all the info everyone! I'm no expert myself but... you might want to upgrade the RAM a little too - 1 gig might be a bit light.
