http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=260449&CatId=0

I want an external hard drive for my techno-deficient dad from his not-too-techno-defficient-but-struggling-with-this daughter.
onthe link above, I've found what I think is a suitable hard drive for backing up his photos and music, literally for back up and that's it.
what's the size/cacpacity of this drive and will I just be able to plug it in and transfer stuff over?
I'm stuck!! help!
TIA!

This is an enclosure not a drive You buy a laptop hard drive and put it in this enclosure to make it connectable via USB. So its capacity, I'm afraid is zero. You won't get an external hard drive for a tenner I'm afraid.
RE: This is an enclosure not a drive cheers Revvie
they don't make that clear do they!!!??!
(or maybe I'm just being thick )
I've seen a sony one for about £28 so think I'll go with that.. don't want to spend a fortune 'cos he's only been 'electronic' for about 6 months, so not got so many photos and stuff yet, but 40gb should be more than enough..

here you go.. http://www.smalldrives.com/small-external-drives-22/vaio-external-drives-34/40-gb-small-drives-40/silver-2-5-vaio-drive-40gb-95.html

this is where you tell me that this one isn't any good either isn't it!!?!?

Looks a little beauty for that money. only a fiver for delivery as well. I'll be having one of those too. Thanks for that.
