I want an external hard drive for my techno-deficient dad from his not-too-techno-defficient-but-struggling-with-this daughter.

onthe link above, I've found what I think is a suitable hard drive for backing up his photos and music, literally for back up and that's it.

what's the size/cacpacity of this drive and will I just be able to plug it in and transfer stuff over?

    I'm stuck!! help!

    TIA!

This is an enclosure not a drive

You buy a laptop hard drive and put it in this enclosure to make it connectable via USB.
So its capacity, I'm afraid is zero.
You won't get an external hard drive for a tenner I'm afraid.

    cheers Revvie

they don't make that clear do they!!!??!

(or maybe I'm just being thick :))

I've seen a sony one for about £28 so think I'll go with that.. don't want to spend a fortune 'cos he's only been 'electronic' for about 6 months, so not got so many photos and stuff yet, but 40gb should be more than enough..

No, it could be clearer, I agree.
