he is getting the team to play the best football we have seen at the well in the last 6 years.

fair play we all dont want to be in the bottom 4 but lets show some realism here , just promoted , the right players not available , if he is unwilling to spend money as some ARE GUESSING , then thats a good thing ,

do you want spackman and his 23 midfielders back ?? thought not ... wait and then buy the right player at the right time at the right price..

I agree - he's done a great job. Got us up at the first time of asking with his hands tied behind his back. We've a poor record with managers over the last few years - let's not make a mistake and get rid of him.

This league is a lot harder than the one we left - a lot of the clubs have top flight experience - it's almost a premier league 2. I think we can still stay up but we need some more players.

    agree

we always strengthen throughout the season yet fans who believe AR has turned money down for players are simply fickle fans and because we have played poorly in one game does not make us a bad side!!!

    Well said

We won't get anywhere swapping managers now.

Let's hope he can bring the additional players in that we need

I don't think that many people are actually

in favour of sacking AR, certainly I am against the idea and will remain so.

There are a number of stories, emanating from different sources doing the rounds at the minute that go along the lines of AR being offered certain experienced players (eg Shipperley) and turning them down. However, we have been unable to attract at least three players that we presume AR has identified this season; the lad who chose Bradford, Kevin McLeod who chose Colchester and Leon Constantine who stayed at Port Vale (they might have wanted too much)

Again, other stories seem to confirm that GS and PC are increasingly frustrated at AR's reluctance to add suggested players and his perceived faith with the current squad. I for one reject the "faith" arguement as as mentioned above, AR (presumably) has been in for at least three players this season.

    RE: agree

You call the people who believe that "fickle" but look at the supposed source of those stories.

Personally, I'd be amazed if AR actually turned down money to sign any players, but I could see (and agree with) him rejecting "suggested" signings

You are right about AR getting the team to play attacking football but we need signings. They might not be the absolute best players that AR wants but it is becoming evident that a number of our current squad are just not up to life in the championship.

But don't you think that the very fact Ritchie has looked at and identified other players...

...indicates that he is looking to strengthen the squad and has re-evaluated his approach regarding keeping faith with the promotion squad?

I find it difficult to believe that the manager is deliberately not using funds available - he's just waiting for the right player for the right price.

A lot of the players suggested (Shipperley, for example) are no better than the players we already have - why would Ritchie want to sign 'em?

I have faith in Ritchie to do the right thing...

    RE: agree

i agree with the suggested signings him turning them down because all that happens is an agent will contact GS and he puts the players name to AR, however it is very easy to mention these players and make stories up so i tend to take everything with a pinch of salt. For example, at the start of the season and throughout people have mentioned certain targets that they had heard from sources etc shipperley, morgan, sharp yet the players we actually went for foster, johnson, mcloud, and constanie (spelt worng) how many people knew about them???

The club are very good at keeping targets under wraps and what annoys me is fans that are so quick to judge and make assumptions, it seems the club cannot do wrong for right at times!!!

I agree we need strenghtening but i just won't shout it from the roof tops everyday/week/night and i trust GS and AR becasue quite frankly they have been the best thing to happen to the club in the last 6 years or so!!!!

    Fair enuff mate...

I wasn't so much arguing against the point you'd made - merely having my two-pennorth!

It is a theory bordering on the paranoid / conspiratorial that Ritchie has money to spend and is deliberately holding back while Shepard is out scouting players everyday and pulling his hair out at the fact AR don't want 'em...

    I didn't realise

that Spackman and the 23 were the only other alternative. I bow to you superior knowledge. :pff
