That Reminds Me.... Didn't Isiah Rankin play against us for Grimsby when he was on loan there from us? And score too?
Re: That Reminds Me.... He did, and celebrated infront of us. That was long before the rule came in to play, it was just BFC who decided against common sense that day.
It's been a football league rule for several years now that a loan player can't play against their parent club.

My worst ever BFC game, that and a 3-0 drubbing in the rain at Pompey. Or away at QPR, pick your own season. Rankin was getting so much grief from the Barnsley fans, I don't blame him for lording it up when he scored to be honest.
I played an eleven aside game recently with quite a few players including mark stallard, dean windass, Brian Deane and a few others. Mark stallard was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Top bloke as well. Made me realise how good the very top level players are.
/Re: Archey can you prove it? I know it applies in the Prem, but I cannot find any reference to it in the current league rules.
Re: /Re: Archey can you prove it? I think it's a premier league rule. Below that I think it depends on agreement between the clubs. Given the league positions, I can't believe that he will be allowed to play - however, Marlon Harewood was on trial there pre-season and didn't get a contract. That should be motivation enough.
after listening to radio sheffield, the way I unterstood it was that its just a gentlemans agreement that the players dont play against their parent side, nowt contractual.
Re: /Re: Archey can you prove it? After missing the last two games, I think Marlon will be chomping at the bit. Continue feeding him on raw meat for the next fortnight, then unleash him at Hillsborough.
