http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22160801 I think the containment of protesters at the funeral tomorrow is gonna be a hard task to achieve for the Police.I am certain that there are gonna be protests, and that it could turn quite nasty too.
Disappointed there's no photo of Rebecca Lush Blum, so we can see if she looks as filthy as her name suggests.
Turning her back on the funeral procession away from loved ones, a decent way to protest in this situation in my opinion. i'm with you on the pub thing, but if people are wanting to do this then good luck to them. Ding Dong
Re: ok demonstrators...stop splitting hairs Eh? I wasn't splitting hairs. Maybe my reputation goes before me, but honestly I was not trying to be funny. I really don't see why people are taking time out of their lives to go to London to protest/demonstrate/whatever. The damage is already done and Thatcher dying changes nothing. I honestly used to think I'd be happy when she passed away but all it does is drag up the hurt of those years, and she lived to a ripe old age so given that she was born in the same year as my parents and outlived both of them seems like a pretty hollow victory. So as I said - I'll be going down to the pub.
Re: ok demonstrators...stop splitting hairs If so-called "islamists" can protest when our troops are brought back from war in a coffin without being stopped, people can protest this funeral.
Re: ok demonstrators...stop splitting hairs You can protest, but you have to have permission from the police and let them know in what way you will be protesting. It's all very sterile.
Re: ok demonstrators...stop splitting hairs If that's the case then how can that be approved by the police? Protesting as dead soldiers are brought back home. Sickening if the police let them.
Re: ok demonstrators...stop splitting hairs Its not about her she's got her comeupence tbh its the fact that the gov't are spending all this money to raise THEIR profile and the fact they are rewriting history and making her out to be a saint when all he was was divisive and confrontational. She doesn't command this sort of funeral for her to time in office and the fact that they won three elections was fortunate as a unpopular labour gov't was not real opposition the bungling of the falklands and the rush to take credit then the changing of the boundaries to give their minority voters a resounding majority in Parliament.
