Can some one please tell me why we should sign Nardiello?

Err...cos he's better than any striker we currently have?

    Yeah but why Nardiello specifically?

There are other strikers out there and he's hardly Wayne Rooney. He's only a one in four striker and most of those at league one level.

RE: Yeah but why Nardiello specifically?

I just think we could easily loan him for the rest of the season and with his future in the balance I think he would produce. If we could manage to pair him with a strong hold up striker like Macken (a big ask I know) then I think we could really reap the dividends.
If you can get his head right, Nads is a top finisher surely you can see that.
Dirk Hartog is right. No room for sentiment in football.

Specifically Nardiello because he is a known quantity.

The rule of thumb is that high risk investments offer the potential for higher yield at the expense of the risk of losing your money. Low risk ones don't tend to offer the same potential but your money is relatively safe. We have taken chances on players who haven't been tested in this league at this level and the gambles have not paid off.

Perhaps this is tempering the fans' appetite for the "speculate to accumulate" strategy.

To be honest, if we sign Macken and Nardiello, I'll be doing cartwheels down Oakwell Lane to their first game together.

Wonder if QPR would let him go on a Free

I cant see us signing him under any circumstances after the way he treated Davey and Shep last summer, but bearing in mind QPR got him for nowt and he is now under contract they could easily be asking £200K for him say - paying to sign someone back who left for nowt isnt going to happen at all is it.

    Fecked if I know

I'ld be surprised if he made 5 games even if we did sign him.

maybe for environmental reasons as we've already got a contract sat in the office from last August?

Other then that, I think people are out of their minds.

He's far too injury prone and I was told that he's got long term problems with an hamstring injury that aint going to get better. I seriously wouldnt want him on the wage bill. Don't be fooled by memories of the very impressive 3 or 4 appearances that he put in last season when he decided to get fit - we've all watched him stroll through many times when he's been very ordinary/frustating/ineffective. Potentially a great talent but i dont think it's going to happen for him i'm afraid. There are much better options out there.

I wouldn't touch him after what he did, BUT I always rated him. Scored some cracking goals and when he was in the mood he was class. He never played in a team that created enough decent chances nor struck up any partnership with any other striker. He had Hayes and ,Richards........say no more. There would be better players around him now. If JCR passed when he should, and Nardiello was there waiting...............great finisher, but greedy get. So regretably a no for me.

Looking at the home fixtures its not likely until Sheffield Utd.

Quality when he wanted to be

You cannot deny and even Stevie Wonder would agree that the guy has so much talent but he only showed it when he felt like it.
I would have him back at the club .

Davey and Shep were happy to offer a contract in the summer, dont think they would have done that if they thought he was idle. Plus you dont get in Simon`s side without showing effort and fitness in training. IF Simon is still interested he and Shep are in the driving seat.

    Fitness tip.

Sleep at home in bed is much more beneficial than in town centre bars.
