REDS new boy Marc Richards spoke to the Official Website after penning a short-term deal at Oakwell.</p>

REDS boss Andy Ritchie has revealed that new signing MarcRichards turned down better offers from other clubs in order to provehimself at Oakwell.</p>

Andy said: &quot;Marc has agreed to join us but has only committed to ashort term contract until the New Year because he wants to provehimself here. Marc is very convinced that he can impress at this leveland I believe he has shown a lot of bottle and loyalty to BarnsleyFootball Club in signing this deal.</p>

&quot;Marc had offers from other clubs and there were two year deals onthe table for him but he wants to play for this Club and wanted to comehere. He had offers that would have given him financial security fortwo years and he turned his back on those to sign for us. That showswhat he thinks about the club and about the coaching staff here.</p>
