Can someone explain to me how Wednesday are/were losing £5m a year please

    They get considerably larger attendances than us and I believe it has been reported a couple of times that their wage bill is quite small like ours so how can they lose £5m a year? What can it be going on?

    That's bugged me for a while.

    I reckon they gambled quite heavily to get promotion to the Championship, they brought loads of players in when they were in league one who Jones decided weren't good enough (don't think he rated any of Megson's signings) so they brought in a shed load more players last season who weren't that great either...I reckon their squad and wage bill is a lot bigger than it appears.

    Can't knock the crowds they get but they do have a much bigger population to draw people in from, not to mention a load from places like Rotherham, Chesterfield, Doncaster and even Barnsley unfortunately.
