    If McNulty and Foster are good centre halves, Collins and Golbourne are both better full backs than McEvely, and Dawson and Perkins are excellent workhorses in the centre of the park - why are we so ****ing **** in defence??

    how many times did they all play in the same team?

    just a simple question , not having a go or bee aggresive just a straight forward honest question

    Don't know. So are you saying that together they're a winning combination but if one player is missing everything goes to ****??

    no, as i said it was an honest question

    TbH i am not sure about Golbourne. but he was mainly played in midfield, collins is a supposed centreh alf but was played and full back we were down to the bare bone at the back end of the season,

    I do think dawson will be good though

    So other than pinning everything on Wiseman (who I also don't rate) we are unable to find any reasons why we are defensively poor because all the players are good players or look like they will be good players once they have a chance to shine. The midfielders in front of them are also good players.

    Doesn't quite add up to me.

    Not really. I thought Foster had a bit of potential at one time but he's never really progressed. The rest look out of their depth. How many of those players do you rate?? If they're all good players why are we so bad in defence? Logic says only one thing for me.

    How can he prove people wrong about his past performances at right back being largely crap. Now if he plays consistently well next season, then he'll have the vast majority of the crowd behind him. Thats not proving them wrong.

    I'm not willing to write off

    The Barnsley careers of any players brought in these past twelve months. I believe in applying patience and tolerance. Especially when a new player is joining the club in difficult circumstances. Historically, there's been a number of individuals whose career at our club hasn't got off to the best of starts, but who have then gone on to make a positive contribution. I'm not one of those who demand immediate success and, if it's not there, complain that the players are simply not good enough.

    Think you're getting a bit paranoid over Wiseman..

    he's been largely and rightly criticised for his poor performances at right back. He is clearly not the best right back at the club at the moment. I think its fair to say the vast majority of fans believe Bobby Hassell is at the moment. Now that could change during the course of next season, but it will take a much improved Wiseman for that to happen, or the emergence of John Stones.

    he was beaten before he kicked a ball and has nver recovered from his home debut where he was very shakey

    but you know what he can mark a player and kind find a red shirt

    Likewise, Bobby Hassell was booed in his early days at the club

    Wrongly in my opinion, but you know what, he grew from that.
    Wiseman often lost his player by the way

    too many on here believe what the believe rather than believe what they see

    maybe i am one with booby, but i believe that defender should be able to mark and man and consistently pass to a player wearing the same color shirt as him self

    I don't have a problem

    When people have different views over a player's abilities. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, it seems that these days if a player (or manager for that matter) doesn't hit the ground running, he's immediately written off. Even if a player then proves their critics wrong. The inflated ego of some of these people, unwilling to admit their error, seems more important to them. They'd rather continue criticising the player than admit they'd made an error by mistakenly jumping the gun with their observations.
    I had exactly that problem when Jim Iley was the manager. It was irrelevant how logical people were when pointing out his strong points, I was totally convinced I was right, they were wrong and the matter wasn't open for debate. I now know I knew nothing when I was a teenager (as I was at the time) and know little , if any, more now!
