Danny Wilson - right man, right time, right place - wrong owner? He was exactly what we needed - calm, experienced solid manager. Nothing spectacular but perfect for rebuilding so why get rid? Did we opt for a copycat Swindon town model that hasn't worked? Young players mixed with plenty of loanees inexperienced manager and inexperienced chief exec. Easy to control. Low risk, low cost - what could possibly go wrong? Everything - this isn't an xbox game. The experiment has failed. Bfc please can we go back to being a proper football club. Barnsley football club. Battling Barnsley! Logical approach, tight budgets but very well run. Do real due diligence on players and managers. Take real care with every decision. Running the club doesn't have to cost a fortune. It's not about the money. It was never about the money - we're no good when we have money. Respected for punching above our weight. A mixture of solid professionals of various abilities, some home grown talent and sprinkled with the odd rough diamond for us to polish and sell on to fund the future. A good cup run every now and again. Ambition to be in the 2nd tier with a dream of more. I miss my BFC.
Sorry, much as I like and respect Danny for what he did first time round, he took us down with no more than a whimper..not all his fault, but we should have gone down fighting.
