We are going to be ok this season then next season we are going to be owned by billionaire and r keif is going to take us marching into the prem......wow these Rose tinted spectacles are brilliant and only £4.99 off eBay. Bargain!
the- firm thats makin them specs must be booming, sold loads on here lotsa posters on here seem to have a pair..Dyson musta bought a hole case of the buggers. He even tries to wear the whole case at once mostly.
Maybe in stead of Rose coloured glasses we could buy a reality check... less than 9,000 home fans at a game and we still think we can compete with others in this leauge that get 25,000 a week. I'm selling reality glasses free with season tickets. But I've already heard that most no renewing... Great fans!
Fans are having a reality check, that's why the criticisms are rife Why does having a lower budget prevent a manager from going out to try and win games and players failing to do the basics on a regular basis on the pitch? Why does having a lower budget mean we cant we have more than 2 or 3 attempts at goal per game? Is it not being realistic to expect your team to roll there sleeves up at least have a go at the opposition on a regular basis and have belief in themselves? Afterall, if the players don't believe in themselves how can they expect anyone else to?
Re: Fans are having a reality check, that's why the criticisms are rife average attendence for the championship is approx 17,000..............admittedly we are third from bottom. but thats the price for lack of ambition, not just the fans to blame for this mess!!
We only got around 4-5k attendances the year we got promoted into the Premier League so that arguement doesnt quite sit with me.
Why does less than 9,000 home fans excuse the lack of on target attempts on goal we've had this year? I go to games now not with optimism but just hoping we get a couple of on target attempts to get excited about.
I think you'll find it was a bit higher than that, even in the first few games. It must have been the 70s when the crowds dropped that low.
I'm sure I remember a league game in the 90's where there were 3,500 fans, southend maybe? I started going in the mid 80's and the fane base was around 5,000 for most that time and breaching 6,000 was an achievement.
3,400ish against Southend around 1993 it was 0-0 and Troy Bennett made his debut, thats the lowest league crowd l've ever sat in by a good 1500 and l've been watching since 1983, l can't recall average attendances under 5,500 throughout the 90's. edit: 6,337 was the lowest attendance during 96/97 promotion year, home to Oxford. Average 11,356.
Less than 4,000 average? l'll check that when l get home through my old programmes but l'm 100% sure we weren't, crowds were around 5-6,000.
BFC AVerage Crowds http://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/bars.htm 1973 and 1976 were the only two post war seasons when we avergaed below 4,000
Re: BFC AVerage Crowds Cheers for that l thought so, only 1 season in the last 33 we've had crowds averaging under 6,000. Interesting that the crowds around Hunter/Clarke we around the same as the Davey years!
