The Nice memorial is a happy clappy event.
Can't wait for the Queen to lead applause on Remembrance Sunday. Just shows that nowadays people haven't got a clue how to stay silent for any length of time.
I suppose though whilst they're clapping they are not looking at their feckin mobile to see if anybody is slagging them off on social media !

I was totally disgusted by that

as far as I am concerned it was disrespectful to the dead of Nice... and I believe Isis will be pissing themselves.

Depending on the country, they have different ways of showing respect.

Let's not get hung up because they differ from us.

Wait until football season when someone who last went 30 years ago but has a picture of them with Johnny Steele dies aged 83 and there are pleas for minutes applause on 83 mins. Just Clap all at last home game

The French are very similar to us in the respect of a minutes silence. There seems to have been a recent shift towards replacing silence with applause. I can see circumstances when applause is acceptable but today was not one of them.

But they DID have a silence today. I witnessed it. A minutes silence. 100% definitely.

They've also had applause and 'celebrations' to show that no terrorist will stop them up enjoying themselves
