lowering ticket prices does not equate with a higher attendance and increased revenue to the club. I always knew it to be a load of old **** and yesterday proved that. At the end of last season we played Leicester City at home in a crucial relegation encounter in almost identical circumstances to this season. Last season produced a crowd of 20,012 with the home end totally sold out and many Barnsley fans turned away. This season we managed just 14,644 with large areas of the home end empty. Last season we lowered ticket prices to just £10 for adults. This season tickets were normal price. There must have been at least 5 times more pay as you go Barnsley customers last season. Why the attendance figures for last season's Leicester game were ignored and the price reductions not repeated this season is beyond me.

Made no difference to the outcome like, we bottled it in both games.

    Possibly

The cup run will have affected it a bit too as people have spent quite a bit following us in that but not enough to produce that kind of drop in attendance.

And possibly people thought it was just a repeat from last year and they'd already seen it. Which sounds about right.
