He is not a winger. He is a striker and not up to it in that position in the Championship. We have tried him on the wing a few times, and to my recollection has had one half decent game and a few sub appearances. Its failed more than it has worked. Devaney is the best right winger at the club. He should play there. We do not have a left winger - Howard is the best option - hes played there a lot before in his career and was actually brougt in a winger. If we play hayes on the right and devaney on the left we have two players playing in unnatural positions. We might as well go back to the Hart's days of management if we want this to happen.
Devaney played left wing all last season. Only swapped cos we got rid of Shuker and brought in McIndoe (for a while).
Something I've always wondered. Given McIndoe left 2 days after AR, and given AR had no replacement lined up, did AR actually know McIndoe was going?
I think Devaney plays better on the left... ... cutting in on a right back who is then pushed on the left foot. I don't think he has the pace to go on the outside of a leftfooted left back (unless it was Hecky !)
ps sorry Hecky only kidding.

Who knows ? At that stage AR may have thought he was ... ... in the game, whereas GS knew he was out... sort of a BFC hokey Kokey
