    From National Rail site

checked for Barnsley to Sheffield trains

    Onboard Facilities
    Service Details

    Cycle Policy Yes

    Cycle Policy - Note

Two cycles spaces are available on all trains. Carried on a 'first come first served' basis.

May pay you to ring and check but think you should be ok.

As a rule yes, however if the train is busy or theres lots of luggage or prams the conductor may say no. You would be bette roff getting an 'express' as it would avoud inbetwen stops and will be a bit quieter.
