But then look at the response on every Social Network site, gangs of people/volunteers wandering around London City with brooms and bin bags and cleaning up, websites being set up to name and shame the looters etc. To me, that proves it's not in that bad a way.
Couldn't agree more - it's fantastic to see communities coming together for the clean up operation. Thatcher went a long way to destroying any notion of community, but it will always be present in our country. Good, honest, decent people who care about others far outweigh the yobs who have commited these crimes...
It's got to be in a bad way for the whole thing to start. The actions of people after the event proves that the spirit of the country is greater than the damage done - but isn't that what England is about?
Its time the country bought a couple of water cannons and the police were issued with rubber bullets, a riots becoming a regular thing in London these days, not much the police can do with the batons & a German Shepherd against this lot. Send kipper down with a cream bun.
