I really don't know why I'm experiencing so much hurt. After thinking long and hard I've come to the conclusion that it's not the thought of relegation which causes the pain. It's because Davey in his infinite wisdom could have avoided this and had the man not been so stubborn/immature we might have been mid table by now. I hurt because an owner APPEARES to have been oblivious to the ineptness of the manager and could have changed things around just or after christmas. He stood by and watched Rome burn. That hurts Mr. Cryne. Reluctantly, I can just about accept us being in the ale house league next season. if the owner does not get rid of mr. ineptness, then he can shove his season ticket where the sun does'nt shine. Rant over.
Bang on If Davey stays i wonder what effect it will have on season ticket sales, never known so many loyal fans be so angry towards the one thing that we love so much.
Just bear in mind that 'business' is a bit of a Gamble There is always some risk you need to hope turns out the right way. Had Davey become more experienced as time went on and established a winning team. Then he would have done it the hard way and better for it. PC probably took this risk. Just look at the possibility if we stay up and Davey remains Manager Next season, hopefully he will have a more settled team, more experience and results should follow and the the risk PC took will have paid off. How many good Managers have been near to the sack before turning a losing team to a winning team. I'll just say Alex Furgeson. (Y) (Y)
have to agree... ... as a supporter of Barnsley FC for 25+ years i've loved players and managers and have disliked players and managers - much the same as any other fan. I hate Simon Davey - never have I felt this way about someone in the employment of Barnsley FC. unfortunately i can't stay away - i'll still be buying a season ticket.
RE: Just bear in mind that 'business' is a bit of a Gamble The difference between Alex Ferguson and Davey being that he had won league titles in Scotland, won the European Cup Winner's Cup and finished 2nd in his first season with Man Utd. He was always going to come good. Davey has done **** all in his career and there is nothing to suggest he will ever come good
RE: Bang on I'll deffo be signing up for the League One mediocrity campaign next season, but I am daft.
Planning away games an all, and still hopeful Spotland will be on mi list...

Davey will never be a good manager I'm staggered that there are still some clinging to the hope that Davey might come good (seestars) There is no chance this is going to happen
I have since January wanted Davey out But bear in mind we are in a relegation fight and suddenly we are getting points away from ex premiership teams. In all the last 3 cases have played the off the park at times. Surely thats some improvement.
RE: I have since January wanted Davey out Bit late in the day to be improving in terms of Davey's future employment We have drawn with Reading fair enough but Derby are nowt special
Are you taking the piss? For crying out loud? Are you seriously suggesting that Davey deserves one more season? Maybe he hasn't done enough damage with his stubborn attitude and his determination to play his cunning 'draw at all costs' tactics? Alex Ferguson actually showed some ability at Aberdeen before he went to Man United. Davey is a Jonah of the highest order. He has always come across to me as an arrogant and thick headed individual - probably on account of the fact that we have only won three this year, but his after talk always suggests that we were the better team. I'm sick and tired of the guy. He has hasn't had the honesty to come out and call a spade a spade - he gives us **** and he calls it ice-cream. His comments after the Swansea match were the work of pure fantasy and fiction. I don't trust him, I don't rate him, I can't believe that he will ever take a football team (any football team) and do anything positive or successful with them. I just want to get this season over with, get him out of the club, and start rebuilding from whatever **** state he leaves us in. If we're still in the championship we'll be very very lucky indeed. Alex Ferguson my arse. (N)
Well, another way of looking at it is that Patrick could have sacked Simon in January and we could have been relegated by March. There's no one who can say Simon hasn't been getting the best out of what he has in the squad. What if he has? Just because we think this squad is good enough to be midtable doesn't mean they are good enough. A new manager could had done worse than we are now.
How could anybody have done any worse than Davey? Have you seen his points total for 2009? FFS it can't get any worse than it is right now
