At an event in Leicester on Saturday afternoon otherwise I'd have been at Oakwell along with the other faithfuls who are desperate to see a reds performance after all that has gone on this past season. The football has been dire to be honest on quite of occasions and anything but entertaining for a couple off years with the odd exception. I don't know where we go as a club from here as Darrell Clarke and Neil Collins have not been the sole cause of our slipping down the league table. Mladens and board members have contrived to make the squad weaker and weaker season after season whilst papering over the cracks and treating the fans with the mushroom effect. (Keeping us in the dark and feeding us on ********). I was hoping for a new manager effect with Connorl(legs suddenly gone) Hourihane but nothing had changed. I was talking to him at an Oakwell luncheon one Thurday before Christmas and mentioned that one day he might be head coach to make conversation, never thought he would be so soon though! The club is at a Crossroads and I do fear that the road ahead will be a rocky one....
Love Barnsley, hate football eh. I’ll be there as usual. Think most of the regulars will cut Connor some slack and accept he will get things wrong, as long as he has them willing to run through a brick wall for him. He has his work cut out though in that respect. COYR
I thought at Mansfield that we would come out of the traps with all cylinders firing and press from the off but it was just the reverse. A team that hadn't won in 14 games took the initiative from the start and we seemed unable to get out of our own have even. Let's see what Saturday brings because we did not look like a team where each player knew what their role was.
Fair play to anyone who only attends home games. Only the current bottom 4 have less points at home than us. Cambridge & Shrewsbury have won the same amount of home games, and only Shrewsbury have conceded more goals at home. Granted we haven’t lost as many as those teams, but I dread to think where we’d be if our away wins hadn’t propped us up, and even the losses are mounting up on the road now. We’ve won more than Birmingham & Wycombe, but only Mansfield have lost more from the top half teams.
I'm going, not been since the Bristol Rovers cup farce followed by the 4-0 drubbing at home, its a bit like rubber necking past a car crash, you know its wrong but you can't help looking at the mess.
Fair play to you ,fortunately I don't have a choice, but like a pillock I will be checking the fone on the sunbed.
Expecting more of the same, not 100% sure I’ll be there just depends how I crack on with a couple of jobs I’ve got on, not exactly motivated to knock about it’s if I get done I get done.
