...a better home debut than Lewin's. Certainly not one from a teenager. Just sheer class. The transformation of the side with the inclusion of him and Pete&Stan was remarkable. Let's hope it continues to build.
lets hope Derby go up - more chance of us getting him on a season long loan next season if we do? presume he is not for sale / out of our price range.
RE: lets hope Derby go up - more chance of us getting him on a season long loan See Tyne Tyke's reply below. Have you checked your email btw?
yeah well funny what a fool! i can imagine he would cost a fair old whack though - well regarded player. can't believe i missed another win - i reckon i am a bad omen , think i have seen two wins in 2 years now?! staying away for the rest of the season!! i reckon Davey has pulled off a bit of a coup with these hungarian lads. i was much more impressed with Steves debut v Colchester but Pete's finish v Hull was very well taken, looks like they could form a decent partnership. got new found enthusiasm for us to stay up now. do you know when you are next coming home.
Unfortunately I can.. Danny Nardiello - came over from Manchester that afternoon, said hello, put on a red shirt, scored 2 goals and made a third. The rest is a rather average history.
Debuts that have flattered to deceive............ Nardiello springs to mind, as does Brian McCord. Absolutel class when on loan then disappeared into oblivion once we finally managed to sign him permanantly.
on the flip side Nyatanga already has an established international career to think of - I am sure he would not want to slack off and lose his place.
david currie v ipswich we lost 3 -2 i think , currie was fantastic tho , running at pace , dribbling past defenders , scored 2 and without there keeper having a stormer we could have won 6 3 with currie getting therm all

RE: david currie v ipswich Can't really say that Currie flattered to decieve in his first spell though. Scored on his second debut against Ipswich and was admittedly quite crap after that, interspersed with a couple of flashesof the old genius. Birmingham home in a monsoon springs to mind when Les Sealy (RIP) had kept them in the game. Currie comes on with 15 minutes left, picks it up on the right wing with his first touch, cuts inside and lets fly from 25 yards. Not that I saw it properly as was standing underneath the west stand and my John Lennon specs were covered in rain.......
RE: david currie v ipswich i dont think i said he flattered to decieve !! great player with unbelievable individual skills... bugger getting the ball of him mind...
Who said that quote in your signature mate? I know it but it's bugging me becuase I can't think what it's from!
RE: Who said that quote in your signature mate? its the opening lines to carter usm's - surfin' usm , they used to open with it back in the day after jon fat beast had been on and done his stuff....
Tommy Wright v Chesterfield Did eveything but score, unfotunately that was probably the best game he had in a Reds shirt
