RE It is unfair though the number of wickets we have to take should be cut to 5 they have an advantage clearly
RE: RE It is unfair though the number of wickets we have to take should be cut to 5 The calculation of the target takes the number of wickets remaining into account http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Duckworth_Lewis
Good night Viena. Great work by Colly, bringing in no fielders to put pressure on them when they needed 3 to win. (wnkr)
it doesn't change as you go along in play it changes for example if you play first five overs then it rains and you only have time for 5 overs left, then your target would be higher if you had lost fewer wickets before the rain
what ever the target is less than 1 run per over needed more than we scored at the full 20 and they only face 9 didn't seem enough. should add more because there now way we could bowl them out, that said....we still blew it!
If you are set a certain amount off a certain number of overs It doesn't change, it's just your target to win. It's only if the game is curtailed during the second innings... you have to be a certain score after a certain number of overs with a certain number of wickets down. Hence when you lose wicket the target goes up as you've less wickets left. So say you're chasing 140 to win after 20, you might have to be 32/0 off 5 overs if it rains at that point. However, should you have lost 3 wickets, you might need to be 56/3...
