Now don't get me wrong, Davey's never hurt me or my family ( he's still breathing ), but I didn't want him.
However when I see shepherd doing this "points average" in't chron, this pissed me off.
Is this how far he has had to go to justify his appointment.
    What a joke!!
I've shook the buckets at Oakwell and Old Trafford during admin, I've had to endure months and years of
piss taking off the Wendys and Blades who live in Hoyland, even Donny fans. But this latest pathetic attempt
to justify this latest managerial appointment means that the piss taking will needlessly start again.

I hope shepherd reads this thread.

What a pathetic man he has become!

    Absolutely Spot On

I too was one of the fans who shook buckets, pestered away fans, attended the market stall, sold raffle tickets, tried to get local businesses to donate for the Barnsley cause during administration and i too now feel totally and utterly gutted that the board have deemed to treat the MAJORITY of the fanbase as absolute idiots by trying to make excuses for hiring a untried manager whilst signing to date players who are no better than we have [jury out on the Manure lad] but these players do not inspire confidence or optimism unless you are on drugs.

I cannot state cleary or loudly enough that i am totally demoralised by the board and its attude and as is my perogative would not renew next season when we go down if Davey is the manager.
In no way do i accept responsibility for my moaning and general depression but these are my views and after 24 years season ticket holder i can voice them, i personally blame Gordon Shepherd, our self appointed puppet master.

I am seriously beginning to think that either you are Davey or Big Gordon.
How can anyone defend the undefensible? The last 2 games are the worst performances I have ever seen by ANY Barnsley side in 40 years of watching them. According to Shepherd Davey has a dossier on each squad member, each team we play and an acute tactical awareness, it is ok having all the qualifications that can be had, but if you cannot put the theory into practice, then its time to say bye . Unless you know something that we dont regarding why players were not signed by Ritchie and I dont mean kids from Man U that are highly thought of, but never been tried at this level, I suggest that you stop having a pop at the most sucessful manager we have had in years.
If however you enjoy the standard of football being played under Davey, then I suggest you seek medical help.
The standard of football played by the youngsters under the leadership of our current manager had been dire this season also, this was one of my main fears when he took over.
I will continue to give my undying support for MY team, no matter who is in charge, but it is becoming obvious to all and sundry that Barnsley are fast becoming the laughing stock of Football, through the totally farcical way the club are presenting themselves.
This is not a personal attack on Davey as I hope he can turn things around, but I am having difficulty believing this
    :( :( :(

ps, i think AR was sacked prematurely cos i thought he made us play good football, i reckon we should have bought the players over his head and imposed them upon him.

How much did i earn for the club in my voluntary roll to raise cash to save the club, or my personal earnings, if its for the club with actual collections at the 18 home and away games probably around £4000, how much did you earn for the club???????

    You spoilt it with this.

"The last 2 games are the worst performances I have ever seen by ANY Barnsley side in 40 years of watching "

You obviously have not seen that many then or took much notice when you were there.

    5-0 Grimsby(a)
    0-2 Norwich(h)
    7-0 West Brom(a)

    Need I go on.

oh, nothing except my season ticket for teh last 20odd years... and buying shirts etc. im not knocking your efforts. i promise you im not, i think we, as fans (including me) should do more of it, to help the club recover financially, even more. but, and its a big but, the sums raised byt eh fans, are small compared to a proven businessman, proven in turning businesses around, doing the job for free when previously, i assume, he was paid an awful lot for doing the same job. its an axtra 200k (complete guess) that could be spent on players, or, goes against the deficit....

FACT is .. Shepherd knows Nothing About Football Management

Or how to run a Football club, His succes has been in the financial side of buisness where customers buy a investment and service with the ability to Invest money, in Football 90% of Revenue is from customers who are fans who need to see ambition from the club but also see a product they like, currently we get neither with only prspects of more under acheivment.

    to be constructive

Wallwork was better than we had.significant contribution to the two games we won.unlucky to lose him

McCann is a usefull squad member and may get better. Nevertheless has played reasonably well when others were suspended injured and won us the Ipswich game.

Reid..Played OK and scored a goal to seal the southend win..again a useful squad member in one so thin.

Knight..the weakest but still offered something different and gave us options on the bench.

So all in all not bad from that lot signed in the 2/3 days we had after AR's inaction fueled departure.

RE: You spoilt it with this.

I go to all home matches and about half of the away matches, I have seen a lot of bad game during my time following the Reds, but the last 2 matches have left me as low as at any time. during the Wolves game Davey did not even talk to his assistant, they were at opposite ends of the dugout. He stood arms folded unable to make a descision about how to turn things around. He left the substitutions too late, never changed the system the team was trying to play and looked like a little boy lost.
Ritchie was slated for his tactics but at least we always looked like we could get something fro a game, well most of the time. Ritchie made mistakes , we all know that, butDavey seems scared to try anything different from his A plan, doesnt seem to have a backup plan at all.

by the way possibilly the worst match i saw at Oakwell was in the 70`s under Isley against Exeter. evening kick off needeed to win to get into promotion place, well you know the rest.
