What a disgraceful way for the club captain to behave! Howard needs to take a reality check. Does he really think that squaring up to a team mate is the way to get respect. Ok frustrated players having a go at each other but to show indiscipline is not the way to galvanise a team. Howard needs the captaincy taking away from him for a while at least! Your Thoughts?

he should never have had it in the first place

thinks he is a better player than he is imho, needs to get back to the basics of simple play

Dont you think he could show it in a better way rather than causing a bad harmony in the dressing room? he could use his passion to raise team spirits get behind the lads not bring confidence further down. just seems logical to me thats all :)

    RE: totally agree

If your agreeing with me mate id give it to Foster as somebody else has said, sorry i didnt catch who it was, hes strong and does his job well, who was it that said the sign of a good footballer is the ones that get overlooked, sounds just like Foster to me he could be a real good team leader by keeping the lads spirits up when there dropping low unlike howard who kicks off as they made a hash of something.

    well how about ....

this guy, he may not be the most gifted player we have but he always gives 110% and then some.He always sweats blood and allways attempts to run through brick walls forus. This guy even when he is having an off day never ever gives up and always tries hard.Thats the stuff a Captain should display its inspirational to the others. He also seems to show that the shirt means a helluva lot to him....

    that man is Martin Devaney

agree with Ali worked at first but has been unravelling for some time now

he simply berates any/all who dont instinctly know when he is going to misplace a pass

    Foster for me

WELL .. believe it or not I have criticised Martin at times...yes honestly

and as I say, he may not be the best player we have technically...BUT I do believe he is a good example to all.

definatley not..if Howard is any kind of man and captain he should call a players meeting behind closed doors and managements, and apologize for his actions on Saturday to ALL players,..then there could be some sort of bond made between them all..after all Howard was only showing he cares for the Reds

    oh my god

    i agree with you! :D

although Foster for me - steady head. Don't like the idea of a winger as captain - too isolated.

    yesterday wasnt an isolated incident

happens to some extent at each home game

in favour of having a leader on the pitch but anyone who doesnt do what the captain wants gets berated - little evidence of encouragement

looks to have had a negative impact on team morale - none of the mutual back slapping and high fives etc that were in evidence during the Autumn

I dont think Howard should have it taken off him, Roy Kean use to square up to everyone. But if you picking a man out I
would say Macken hes a great player, got fire in his belly and full of experience.

Happen he's been unsettled wi all the agents talk

    & speculation.

Or may be he simply got peed off wi Souza regularly feckin up?

Whatever now its off his chest with luck he'll settle down. His leadership style is very much inspirational rather than managerial or
delegational, so having a period of poor form affects his leadership as well. Captaincy isnt just about what happens on the field but
what happens on the training pitch & behind the scenes. He's also Daveys mouthpiece on the pitch.

Dunno about Davey but I suspect his leadership style isnt the same as Bri's but Bri has to carry that out on the pitch & iy doesnt
    come naturally to him
