Yeah, I had it booked in for some other work and they did this at the same time. In and out the same day.

Not sure mate, it was done on a company car so the bill was sent to the leasing company.

I had mine done at Kia for £50. Took half a day.

Would be interested to see if anyone knows of a cheaper place?

This is the first time I've had to do it, always driven ovens since now

It shouldn't cost you any more than £20 at a decent local garage that does it.

Likes of Halfords/Kwik Fit etc can do it for about £30

Take it to a dealer they'll charge you upwards of £50

Why does it need a recharge 'cos if it is leaking then a seal may be leaking? If you have a recharge it will simply leak out and you will have to have it done again. How old is the car? Do you run the AC at least once a week (even in winter) to stop the seals drying out?

EMP behind Summer Lane Garage. ( not to be confused with EMP Garage on Summer Lane) 2 very highly trained Auto electricians ( main agents hire these guys in they're so good) they will drain, leak test then recharge your system. Apparently you should have this done every 2 years or so.

I rang there as said £30 or £40 with clean on website.

Gave me some spiel about £49 at that autocentre plus if want filter replacing its a total of £85 with £20 filter (that I see is available on their website for £10).

So sacked it off for now. Can cope of full fan power work air con for now. Never had refill in years though

    a word of advice matey

don't just have it re-charged have it totally serviced, cleaned out etc.... a bit more expensive but it will work much better, and apparently cleaner. Seems that if not cleaned it can be a health risk.

Apparently to refill properly takes an hour at least. Ten minutes sounds like either didn't need top up or...
