    Business minister all over the shop on testing NHS staff and ventilator numbers. Looking like a tomato now. Clear that Hancock and others have been spinning porkies.

    Total embarrassment # Nadhim Zahawi. Must think we are mugs. No good holding COBRA meetings
    to talk about this pandemic. From what we are being told, front line NHS staff face chronic shortages
    of protective equipment, testing equipment, ventilators, beds etc. We have know about this impending crisis for months and sadly our politicians have continued to dither. We need to be tracking and testing and be more decisive on who should/shouldn't be continuing to go into their place of work.

    10 days ago the call went out to ramp up manufacturing of ventilators according to Zahawi. That's criminally negligent in my opinion, it was obvious to anyone with a hole in their ar*e long before then that ventilator capacity will probably be the most important variable in determining the eventual mortality rate.

    I’d love to hear the opinion of a ICU doctor, but it appears to me if you need to be hospitalised but only need drugs and/or oxygen in your nose you are likely to be ok, if you need a ventilator you likely to die end of.

    Surely the great british public aren’t stupid enough NOT to demand a public enquiry and a day of reckoning for the total incompetence of this government after this emergency is over and the bodies have been counted. (And counted by someone who’s NOT in government!)
