I have a vauxhall vectra and recently the orange engine warning light is lit on the dashboard and the car judders and misfires, anyone know what this is please ? thanks in advance.
RE: It could be any of several things Thanks for the advice everyone.Had the Tech 2 Diagnostic done this afternoon and this showed no faults recorded. The engine light isnt on now and no juddering! what could have been wrong i wonder. (dunno)
Is the speedo working correcty? A faulty speedo cable on my Vauxhall Astra caused the engine management system to run in "safe mode" similar to the way you are describing.
We had something similar and it was a circuit board problem.
The strangest car I have ever had - loved starting in winter, hated it in summer

RE: Electrics...on the Vectra are poor How do you work that out?Ive got a Vectra estate for work and its never been a bit of bother drives well too. They are also well up on the reliablity tables too hence the number of fleet cars, they do'nt use cars thjat cost a lot to run
nowt wrong wi vauxhalls ive had a vectra 3 years not a bit of bother even though its now done over 110,000miles
My Taxi was An Astra diesel and before we sold it did 300.000 and was still going strong, only sold it because it because it was beginning to fail the strict emissions test, otherwise we'd still have it.
Infact i'm thinking of buying another.

RE: My Taxi was my vectra was the 1.7 diesel turbo and now my sons got it and hes still using it for work everyday no probs
RE: Electrics...on the Vectra are poor Aye, but not all cars are the same yer know. This one could just be a "duffer" as one David 'Dickheadson' would say... I'd just stick a bit o' duct tape over the engien management light - sorted!
RE: nowt wrong wi vauxhalls it werent new when i got it its now ten years old i had it 3 years trouble free now my sons got it and still no probs
