well, not too far away now from the new season. ah, the replenished hopes, the re-charged dreams, some new reasoning why it all sadly went so wrong... looking forward to it, good luck to us both this season
Hi big joe do your fans still hold us in high regards for beating the Swans ?
Oh and good luck after Saturday, looking at your accounts I think you may need it

High Regard !!!! .............do your fans still hold us in high regards for beating the Swans...............!!!!!! ff ff ff Look on the you Tube website.......ie. Barnsley at Cardiff If they bring a lot of fans, which they will, being the first match of the season, then get ready for some Cardiff fans trying it on Expect a big police presence on satdi Remember the TARN fans last time trying to get at the Cardiff fans Hell on earth round the bus station e.g. The Room boozer set on fire I wouldn't call it 'high regard'
likewise fella i for one will boo Peter Ridsdale, applaud and cheer Chopra and give a polite ripple of applause to McPhail (was never his biggest fan)
There's always a big police presence at Barnsley matches They always go too far by turning out in mass numbers. Saturday won't be any different, except for the fact, they might actually have to do some work this time.
RE: Think what it'll be like on Saturday then ...because they double the amount of coppers wherever we go. Can't remember the last game we had without a bloody helicopter either, lol. I'm sure it follows me to the local as well, or am I just paranoid? Yorkshire police are normally quite friendly with us and treat us like celebrities. We get helicopters, outriders and cars blocking every entrance/exit until we get to Tamworth. Very good of them I think. They don't do that for just anyone you know
yes its daft sometimes when i went to the boro game last week there were about 15 coppers waling around town and stadium way. and a riot van parked under bridge on way up to ground. Talk about overkill, said to my mate be more police than fans. Probably be huge Presence on Saturday
They treat the away fans better than the home fans In my experience they're all arrogant prats at SYP. Let's hope you lot can behave yourselves for once ff
I counted 52 Boro fans at the match Probably 3,000 of us lot at most. I saw riot vans, 3 horses, loads of foot coppers. It's unbelievable. The whole South, West, and North Yorkshire Police forces will probably be there on Saturday!
Son wants to go on Setdi...............No Chance Last time out............. Road blocks Fire engines Police outside The Room with sheilds up to window TARN fans inside trying to set fire to the pub All pile on with police officers - int doorway of Gatehouse Horses scattering TARN fans and shoppers int bus station Every boozer int TARN were filled with........wall to wall GBH TARN fans up for it big time There were 300 Cardiff fans surrounded by 300 coppers If they bring 1500++ to the TARN they cant keep all of um surrounded If any get into the town centre theres going to be hell
Leave at 2:30(if you're local) Go straight into the ground, leave at the full time whistle and go directly home then. It's not rocket science. If you want to avoid it all, you can!
was daft at boro all those police could have been off preventing crime, saturday will as you see just be the whole police force. god help them if its a controvsial match and all gets a bit heated
RE: Leave at 2:30(if you're local) Brilliant post. too many people get caught up in the fact that trouble happens and to be honest i dont really care whether it does or doesnt but you can always avoid it. Maybe just by going to the game? Get to the game and enjoy the first win of the season. up the reds
Or better still Leave home at 2pm, get to Oakwell and buy a pint there before going to your seat and letting your son soak up the atmosphere of the first game of the season.
Watching the team warm up can be just as memorable for a young lad as watching the rest of the game.

Are you telling me.............. that you can go to watch the TARN and not have a gallon of ale before hand And at least a couple after the match Whats the point in that !!! Going to the boozer before and after the game is all part of the day I honestly wouldn't go to the match if I couldn't have a drink (pint) (pint) (pint) (pint) (pint) (pint) (pint) (pint) PS. not usually in the ground for kick off Thats why I go int West Stand - after walking from TARN, first door I come to I can fall through it into the ground
RE: Not us they dont and, compared to what we we were like a few years ago we are absolute (angel) Don't get me wrong, if you want trouble you'll find it, but we have really cleaned up our act. Will say though, the lads are partial to a drink and most of our arrests tend to be for drunkeness.
The one thing that annoys me more than anything with the police Is that chuffing helicopter that flies over the ground watching the game for free while all the fans are inside the stadium.
Surely the whole point of an helicopter is that it has a fast response time. ie if there is a problem it can be on the scene very quickly.
