Absolutely awful to watch. Really got to feel for David Kerslake. Made to sit in front of the media and basically, look a complete dick. What a circus show that was.
He was sent down to do the press instead of Malky, just minutes before the conference. Said he wouldn't answer any questions about Malky, then just got peppered with questions and got a bit of a rough ride from some of the journos. Stumbling and stuttering, looked like a rabbit in the headlights.
Never. If we ever reach the Premier League again I'd like us to do it the way we did it before. The hard way. The right way.
everytime i see some $hit like this, i thank my lucky stars we have patrick and cadaver taylor. old school
At the moment observing the goings-on Cardiff City is like watching a car crash - terrible to watch but difficult to look away.
As much as Cardiff fans whinge about a man who's spent over 100 million on them and got them top flight football, I bet they would stick with him in the premiership then pick dropping back to championship level with a new owner.
and conversely, fowls will no doubt be creaming their pants right now. have they already signed mackay yet, on fowlstalk?
I was about to say that's harsh on the supporters, then I found this on the CCFC website: "On behalf of the board of directors and after constructive and positive discussions with our principal investors, Cardiff City Football Club are delighted to announce that Tan Sri Vincent Tan and Dato Chan Tien Ghee ("our Investors") have pledged their continuing commitment to enable the club to plan for the future. Following a comprehensive review of wider supporter feedback via email, letters, media coverage and polls run via the official Supporters Club and Media Wales and as a consequence of the above commitment, Cardiff City Football Club will also reactivate rebranding proposals with a view to exploiting and maximising its brand and commercial revenues in international markets, which it is hoped in turn will bring success to the club locally, whilst also attracting new partners and investors."
TBH I do feel a bit sorry for the genuine supporters, I know Bluebird who gets on here seems a genuine guy but in general I hate all they stand for
It's not a big thing what's happening. It's being blown out of all proportion just because it's a premiership team and foreign owners are automatically hated. It's just the manager and a board member falling out. No different to Flicker and Rowing hating eachother. Well apart from our in fighting was during a championship relegation fight and didn't involve the premiership.
There's plenty I'm sure who publicly decried the re-brand and the change of colours and then suddenly U-turned once they were charging towards the Premier League. Very fickle. But then again shame on the business-men who prey on supporters loyalty, passion and enduring relationship with their club, making it virtually impossible for them to stay away even if they disagree with their morals/actions. I said earlier in the thread if we every got back to the Premier League I'd want us to do it the way we did it before. The hard way. The right way. But if we'd re-branded to Barnsley Bulldogs and played in Union Jack kits and got to the Premier League relying heavily on the re-branders dime it would still be a wrench to stay away and watch others revel in the glory I'd yearned for for years.
Everyone's got their own breaking point Some will still go no matter what happens, as long as it means the club receiving extra money. For some, it could be a name change, moving to another area, playing in different colours, or playing at a different ground. It'd be up to each one of us to decide when enough's enough with regards to potential changes at our club, if we're bothered at all.
