    Nathan Blake:

" There’s nobody in the Barnsley team that really carries a threat or should do any damage to the Bluebirds."

No offence to Barnsley, but they operate on a small budget and I really can’t see them holding City back right now.

I believe the Bluebirds will win quite comfortably tomorrow, something like 2-0 or 3-1, to put the club on the brink of promotion."

Hope we prove him wrong like we have with so many other teams this season.

If he`s going off Saturdays performance and stats and with what he thinks of the Cardiff defence I suppose its a reasonable opinion.

Most seasons a 2-0, 3-1 loss is what we would expect ourselves, but this season, in the words of most supporters, its just mad.

It's reasonable to suggest they're strong enough to get three points. But it's disrespectful and stupid, to come out with what he has. He obviously hasn't been checking the 2013 form table...or our last 5 results...or the performance against Palace. Mug

    It's Nathan Blake.

Forgive me for being un-surprised by this.

I spent many a game as a teenager calling him a wannnker.

Are you sure that its got nothing to do with you not liking us Nathan?

I think this is a more winnable game than the one on Saturday. We always seem to put up a fight away at Cardiff whereas Palace has never been a happy hunting ground for us. I think Cardiff have coasted over the line, they've been consistent rather than spectacular and benefitted from the likes of Leicester, Palace, Brighton, Hull and Boro all slipping in the 2nd half of the season.

Considering our current form, I think a draw isn't out of the question, afterall the palace game was the first league game we failed to score in all season.

A more physical, direct team though, are Cardiff. Good set-pieces.

I think Campbell is missing, but Whittingham should return.

I think we'll score. Just hope we can keep them out.

Whitey I am with you on this.

Nathan Blake was a decent bully-boy striker but his attitude was, and by the sounds of it still, stinks.

REDS can get something out of this game, I am sure Flicker will have the lads focused.

Hardly a shock him saying that when his relationship with the Oakwell faithful was always full of alot of banter like with the likes of Craig Belamy, Jason Lee, Dean Windass etc. He was never Adrian Pennock level of banter though.

And there's the difference between him and Flicker. In his interviews Flicker is always complimentary (sometimes a little too much I find) about the teams we play. Respect costs nothing and now he faces the risk of looking ridiculous if we win/draw. If he'd been complimentary about us and they win then that makes Cardiff look even better doesn't it? And not so bad if they do draw/lose as he can always just say that he knew not to underestimate us.

It's just bravado, Blake's always been like that. There was always a good bit of banter with BFC, especially in the promotion season when he scored for Bolton at Oakwell. Well jammy that.
If his assessment of the opposition had been a little better, he might not have been relegated so many times. Doesn't he hold the the premier league record, or used to?

Flickers will tell the players what this[IMG] thinks of them, thats the motivation talk done & the players fired-up for the Cardiff game.

just a really naive thing to say. if we were a threat to watford, we can be a threat to cardiff. btw, they were shockin at oakwell and very lucky to walk away with all 3 last time.
