Looking at leeds now, do you think that lot are a bit concerned the man who set the ball rolling, (Downhill) is in charge there now????
RE: No ...but one thing's for sure - we're a lot more financially secure now that Sam Hammam has gone and that is in no small part thanks to Peter Ridsdale, as much as that may be a surprise to Barnsley and Leeds fans. Peter Ridsdale rescued our stadium deal after SH tried to hoodwink the local Council (for 5 years in total) into giving him permission for the stadium, despite SH refusing to reveal who CCFC's debtors were. He still refused to do this even when he had his shares reduced to be worth next to nothing in the takeover. The loan notes (£24m worth) were either i) dodgy or ii) illegal, or both, in my opinion. PR brought the development company on board who have secured the stadium and retail development and, moreover, the future of Cardiff City. The Council appear to have confidence in PR and he is employed as Chairman at CCFC by the new investors. He has also invested £500k of his own money in shares in the club btw. He seems very annoyed with the fact that he carries the can for the troubles at Leeds, despite Leeds United being a PLC with a board of eminent directors who were in turn accountable to their shareholders. He would not have made every decision, particularly the major financial ones, on his own. He has stated on many occasions that he has learned from his mistakes and that they would not happen again. He obviously did some things right at Leeds and in his former career and it would appear that he is determined to re-establish his reputation at Cardiff. So far, he seems to be doing well. Time will tell but I'll repeat - we're far better off since PR has replaced Sam.
There's nowt you can tell us about his Leeds excuses We've heard em all before. He was well practiced in South Yorks before he used em on you lot.
Can't wait to see what the ticket prices are at the new stadium.

RE: There's nowt you can tell us about his Leeds excuses To be honest, when he came here my only thoughts were on the mess he'd left Leeds in (suppose I should thank him really, lol) and latterly at Barnsley. Speak as you find and he appears to be doing a great job here. The Council auditors and even Sam Hammam acknowledged that and Sam would only have been interested in the money PR could make for him. With regard to the ticket pices, we're lobbying to get "safe standing areas" and this has been brought up at the recent League Management Committee meeting by one of our directors. That would mean reduced prices. Perhaps your confusing us with cuddly "uncle Ken" at Leeds.
Ken and Pete are both Saints in my book Both jointly and severally liable for the state that Leeds find themselves in.
If I saw either in a boozer they would never need go to the bar
