Good option imo. Wouldn't lose any height from the defence by playing him rather than Nyatanga there either.

He was steady enough, when he was here previously, and that was in the Championship. Technically a bit limited, but you know he's going to put everything into a game.

Definitely a better option than both Nyatanga, or Smith, at left-back.

Get this lad in. Exactly what we need a proper professional who's in his prime and knows what it takes.

Defensively hes probably one of the best fullbacks in the leagues, not sure about him going forward.

He's a fantastic crosser of the ball.

Would be good competition with Smith but Dickinson can't play WB role...saying that not many can.

Also assuming you still play Nyatanga for experience. Surely you can't drop Roberts?

His contract is up end of season too...maybe a stop gap?

  9. Get him in. I think he will do a cracking job at this level. He was excellent the last time round in my opinion with his passion and enthusiasm.

Sooner play and develop Smith than Dicko.
Fond memories 1st time round though

Don't think it will hinder Smith's development any more than playing Nyatanga at left back ahead of him. Smith will be used fairly regularly I reckon and will learn from an experienced player like Dicko, who has a promotion to the Premier league on his CV for one.

Yes! If only to see him try and get the West and Ponte end fired up pre-match like he used to. Used to make my afternoon that did.

Gids1980: There is no truth to rumours linking Barnsley FC with Carl Dickinson. For starters it's Radio Stoke, not Staffordshire. (1/2)

Shame, would be a great signing. Good, experienced left back at this level. Leader on the pitch too

    Need a couple like him.

Not technically brilliant but a leader on the pitch, passionate & capable of playing well at this level

Things must be tough for us if we are wanting to sign him five years too late. Done little of note since leaving us and not particularly experienced for his age.
