Interesting that they've only won a single away game but it was at Bolton, who look likely to take one of the 2 auto spots. Only lost at Portsmouth in injury time too. This is in no way an easy game on paper for us.

They've still got the worst record in the league away from home.

No such thing as an easy game. whatever level. You play at. That's when teams who get cocky often struggle if they dont take their opponents seriously.

I still haven't worked out how they did us 0-3 in the Lg cup, a few years ago. Were we complacent that night and did we maybe under estimate them!.

Haven't scored in the first half which should be a good indicator for us.

EDIT: Ignore, totally read that wrong the first time

Carlisle are a bogey team for us - always seem to nick a result. One of my best mate's a Carlisle fan -only played us once since I've known him , that league Cup game a few years ago. Remember them being difficult to beat when we had them in league games in the 80's though.

Have been to a few games with him at Brunton Park which is a proper old style football ground with pubs in the main stand. Most memorable game I attended there was the one where Jimmy Glass scored the winner to keep them up - also attended game where they were relegated to the conference.

Think you’re stating obvious here pal, with them being next to bottom of league you’d expect them to have a poor record imo

Here’s our full record V Carlisle. Went there a couple of times in the 80s and if I remember correctly, the last time they beat us at oakwell in the league, they were already relegated.

I know they beat us at home in the league cup a few years back, but let’s honest, most teams do.

That Bolton game is particularly strange when you really look into it too. Carlisle had more shots, missed a penalty, and also scored an own goal. They only had 25% possession in the second half, but managed to score twice, suggesting they tend to sit back and counter attack. We're not the best at breaking teams down who like to sit deep, and 2/3 of our back 3 is notoriously slow, so I can see tonight being a slog.

Watched Thogdens vlog on that game. Carlisle took a big support there and really got behind them.

Sold 831 for tonight which considering they are 23rd, it's midweek, its a rearranged game, its on ifollow and it's blooming freezing, is a fantastic effort. Fair play. Its 145 miles door to door

Agreed. A lot will be coming for the new ground I suspect.

No easy games. Respect to them for bringing so many. They have always had decent support TBH.

Me too, just to see the look on Thogden's irritating face as Bolton got smashed at home by one of the worst sides in the division.
