I have no faith in the integrity of any politician, they just can't help themselves, they seem to be hard wired to be corrupt in one way or another however Rifkind for me is the most loathsome, odious horrible wretch of a man that has ever (dis)graced the houses of parliament.

Even since the poll tax all I've wanted to do is punch his lights out. For me he represents the very worst of what finished the Thatcher government and I can't quite see why he is still hanging around.

Hopefully this will finish him but we need the people of Kensington & Chelsea to wake up and do something about him.

I would have put Straw in the same fold too. I met him at a festival he was speaking at in the mid / late 80's & he sounded like he wanted to change the world to a decent place. The guy is a fraud. I hope he rots in hell.

Believe it or not there are good and honest politicians from all parties its just there's not enough of them to change the rules.
Our political all system is heading the way of america where money is power.
It depends how the press and media report and follow up these stories whether owt get seriously dealt with so don't hold your breath.

the labour party is full of rich socialists parading under a different guise to their counterparts on the opposite bench, for the biggest part (certainly those with cabinet potential) they are two cheeks of the same ar-se apart from a bit of tinkering around the edges there is **** all to choose between them, both held in their place by bankers and civil servants.
Watch carefully if labour win the election and see if you can see how much of the tories dirty work they alter,if their last 13 years was owt to go by there wont be a lot going off.

I can't understand how both of them are not suspending without pay pending disciplinary proceedings. Exactly the same as anyone else would expect to be having been caught allegedly breaking the rules.

The point is, technically they haven't broken the rules, which is the sad state of affairs. They both need to be hounded out of parliament however.

Even if they are hounded out they will both still leave with very generous golden goodbyes and very generous pensions. And the political elite wonder why there is so much voter apathy. The whole political system creates the opportunity for corruption and sleaze and allows odious, out of touch cretins like Rifkind to prosper. Until there is a major, transparent overhaul of the whole political process the gap between the average Joe and MP's will continue to widen and apathy will increase.
