Would you recommend 'chemical castration' for any barsteward that abused any of your family ??? I'd personaly do a 'physical' version would you ???
Same here. Had this discussion earlier. Have you heard the catch to it though? Chemical Castration will only take place as a punishment if the sicko agrees to it!!! wtf?! I can really see them agreeing to it. Great British law is mint. (doh)
If it was my family then I guess I'd feel inclined to do the "physical" version but from the perspective of someone who wasn't emotionally involved I'd prefer it if they stayed in prison...
What implement would you use? I'm curious'.... (dunno) ....Personally i think a 7lb hammer would do the trick....

Some will do though, some do go for help. Others may be offered it as a condition of bail. I think you'll find it's a medical treatment rather than a punishment.

I HAVE BEEN arguing for this for some time!! I believe it is the best option available to deal with child abusers! Although I do believe it should be compulsory! There are 4 choices available: 1. Continue with the status quo. Child abusers are currently locked up for relatively short periods of time. They are then released and put on a register and are required to report their address to the police. The authorities then do their best to monitor them. This is clearly not working and allows child abusers to reoffend. 2. Lock them up and throw away the key. Many people would like to do this and I persoanally would not disagree. However this is highly unlikely to be acceptable to many people who will claim it is barbaric. 3. Introduce a 'Sarah's law', this would allow parents access to information about where child abusers live. Clearly this would lead to vigilantism and public disorder! I believe this is the worst option. 4. Introduce compulsory chemical castration that can be ordered by the court! This would allow child abusers to be released back into society after serving their sentace with a much lower risk of reoffending. The same monitoring system could be put in place, but the liklihood of reoffending would be much reduced. This would make life much safer for children. I also believe it would be the best thing for the offender as they would no longer have the urge to abuse children. Well that is what I believe. Do the Barnsley BBS public agree with me?

How does it work? I was half listening to the radio last night and thought I'd heard that the 'offenders' have to routinely take tablets? Did I hear wrongly?
