It would not surprise me if someone took football clubs to the European courts over the selling of tickets, I should imagine although tell me if I am wrong that restricting people to buy a certain number of tickets, how many tickets and who gets them first might be illegal because it's not fair trade and it must effect people's human rights on restriction of trade.
It worked for a certain MR bosman ?
SEASON TICKET HOLDER MAY BE QUAKING IN THEIR BOOTS OR WILL IT BE FOOTBALL CLUBS?.
ps im having a laugh so no vile pm's , but stranger thinks have happened.
    :)

I've thought similar in terms of sales only to fans of clubs involved, but then that comes down to legislation that goes back to the hooligan problems. But why do tickets have to be bought directly from the clubs?
