    While it's a shame on one hand...

    I can understand the FA's decision. England should be striving for better things, not wasting time playing sub-standard neighbouring countries who all love to hate England.

    So we'll play Slovenia and Slovakia instead?

    FFS, at least if we entered it we might see the England team win something, or be shown up for the passionless bunch we usually are!

    In fairness the Slovakia and Slovenia games have been arranged as we are playing simlar opposition 4 days later in Ukraine and Croatia respectively. No point warming up against Brazil or Portugal and then trying to play against either Ukraine or Croatia.

    I think playing a home nations competition would have been good for the fans but useless for the team as they would just descend into typical derby games, which from a footballing point of view are never that good.
