<p class="big">A Celtic fan in Milan was killed on Tuesday night after being knocked down in a traffic accident.</p> The man, who has not been named, was in the city to watch his side's UEFA Champions League tie against the Italian giants.</p> He was struck by a taxi at shortly before midnight and taken to the Niguarda hospital, but doctors were unable to save him and he died later that evening.</p> "We can confirm that a British citizen was killed last night in a road traffic accident at 11.30pm involving a taxi," said Joanne Yeadon, press officer at the Milan consulate.</p> "Next of kin have been informed. My colleagues are dealing with the authorities and offering consular assistance."</p> Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the victim was a 37-year-old Scottish man.</p>

RE: He wasn't on the way to the game He was a 46year old(I think) from Cumbernauld, near Glasgow. Can't remember his name! Milan were trying to keep Celtic fans out of the home end, a harsh way to go about it in my opinion!
