I think he is playing Anderson there to...

try and give him more time on the ball. Played very well there against West Brom I think, until he got injured.

Disagree........ Anderson has been doing a cracking job on the right

He doesn't have the pace of JCR but difference is he has provided quality crosses into danger areas, and has also has scored twice this season whilst playing out wide.

Similar to Howard debate in previous seasons i.e. was he more effective in centre midfield of playing wide left.

Personally I feel that both Howard and Anderson are more effective in wide positions, they lack pace but provide quality crosses into danger areas and are also able to cut inside. Both can operate in a central role but IMO do not offer as much to the team. They perhaps see more of the ball in central midfield, but more often than not play short simple passes and shooting opportunities are limited.

Most of Howards goals were scored when he played wide left, they dried up when he moved into central role. It was only penalties that kept his goal tally so high. I feel same could be said for Anderson.

And TBH this is problem with JCR, he has become so used to playing central role that he constantly cuts inside..... He needs to do what he does best, stay wide and run the wing.

    Thats rubbish about Howard

most of his goals came after McPhail left and Howard moved inside, attacking through the middle.

Howard replaced Jacob Burns in the Middle

AR put him in there specifically to score goals.

Davey tried a similar experiment with JCR (when Howard moved on).... :)
