Hardly a surprise. You can't shorten the season by 6 weeks, without reducing the number of games in any meaningful way.

I'm amazed that international friendlies, and even Nations League games are being played to be honest.

With the number of injuries that have been happening, common sense has prevailed. With the same number of games in a shortened season, together with the same number of International windows at 3, something had to happen. Just glad it's happened sooner rather than later. Some clubs saying 9 substitutes are required as well, making the matchday squad 20 players

I would have binned the Nations League, international friendlies, the Papa John's, and the League Cup.

Problem is, the last two would never have come back if you got rid of them 'for just one season.'
